Indonesian families hopeful to know cause of plane crash after blackbox finding
Due to bad weather, Indonesia on Wednesday has suspended a search operation by divers for the cockpit voice recorder of a passenger jet that crashed into the Java Sea on Saturday.
Earlier, the investigators found one of two black boxes.
Meanwhile, the families of Sriwijaya Air's victims had expressed hopes for answers to the cause of the crash after a blackbox containing the flight data recorder of the Boeing 737-500 jet was retrieved on Tuesday.
The Boeing 737-500 Sriwijaya Air flight SJ182 was en route to Borneo from Jakarta when contact was lost - minutes after take-off. All 62 people on board were killed.
It was the second major air crash in Indonesia since 189 passengers and crew were killed in 2018 when a Lion Air Boeing 737 MAX also plunged into the Java Sea soon after taking off from Jakarta.
