Quetta sit-in

Despite harsh weather in Quetta, thousands of Shia Hazaras including men, women and children are staging a sit-in along with the dead bodies of 11 coalminers who were brutally slain on Sunday in Balochistan’s Bolan district.

Although, provincial chief minister and several federal ministers try to convince but the mourners have refused to bury their loved ones until Prime Minister Imran Khan meets them and the killers are brought to justice.

This is not the first time that Hazara community is staging a sit-in in Quetta. Back in 2013, the tribe also staged a sit-in for several days along with the dead bodies of their loved ones.

Despite the assurances of the federal and provincial governments, the sectarian attacks on Shia Hazaras are continuing for the last several years.

The anger of the community is increasing day by day while it is the time that the federal and the provincial governments take serious measures to protect the lives of the innocent community which is struggling for its survival.

The militants of LeJ are very much active in the province while they have support from the ‘local’ religious groups to attack Hazara across the province.

Imran Khan is the prime minister of this country while the demand of the mourners to meet with ‘their’ prime minister is not too much difficult for him that he cannot fulfill.

Hazara are the citizens of this country while it is the job of the government to protect its citizens as they have suffered a lot like the souls of their dead.
